In some big hospitals the bills may be sent directly to your travel insurance company; however, small health establishments would require you to pay the bill and then file for reimbursement. So, always be prepared about anything you are likely to come across. Choosing a company that validates direct processing of bills is wise, though you must personally be prepared for reimbursements later too!
